SPOUSAL ACTIVITY GUIDE
EXPERIENCE WINDSOR
This year, the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association is pleased to host its Annual General Meeting and Conference in beautiful Windsor, Ontario — a vibrant community where history, hospitality, and faith come together. Situated along the scenic Detroit River, Windsor offers delegates the perfect setting to gather, reflect, and celebrate Catholic education in Canada’s southernmost city.
Discover a City of Connection and Culture
As Ontario’s gateway to the United States, Windsor is a place where cultures meet and communities thrive. Delegates can enjoy a walk along the Windsor Riverfront, a stunning five-kilometre stretch of trails, gardens, and public art — perfect for quiet reflection or conversation with colleagues.
The city’s historic Walkerville District, founded by Hiram Walker, offers a glimpse into Windsor’s industrial heritage and is now home to local shops, restaurants, and galleries. Just minutes away, the Art Gallery of Windsor and Willistead Manor provide rich cultural experiences that showcase the region’s creative spirit.
Dine and Unwind
Windsor’s dining scene is as diverse as its people. Whether you’re sharing a meal with colleagues at a downtown bistro or enjoying dinner with a view at the Windsor Convention Centre, you’ll find something to satisfy every taste. Don’t miss the region’s local specialties — including Windsor-style pizza, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, and the award-winning wines of Essex County’s EPIC Wine Region, just a short drive away.
Explore and Reflect
Between sessions, take time to enjoy Windsor’s many parks and green spaces — from the colourful Queen Elizabeth II Sunken Gardens in Jackson Park to the tranquil Ojibway Nature Reserve, where native flora and fauna offer a peaceful escape.
Those wishing to explore further can visit the Our Lady of Assumption Church, a cornerstone of the Catholic community since the 18th century, reflecting Windsor’s deep spiritual roots and enduring faith tradition.
Getting Here
Windsor is easily accessible from across Ontario and beyond. The city is served by Windsor International Airport (YQG) with daily flights to Toronto and other major centres. Delegates driving from other regions can take advantage of convenient highway access, and those arriving from the United States are just minutes away via the Ambassador Bridge or Detroit–Windsor Tunnel.
Make the Most of Your Visit
As we come together to share in fellowship, learning, and celebration, we encourage delegates to take time to experience all that Windsor has to offer. From its welcoming community and riverside beauty to its vibrant culture and rich Catholic history, Windsor provides a memorable backdrop for the OCSTA 2026 AGM & Conference.
We look forward to welcoming you to Windsor!
