Chrome

These two-part workshops offer the opportunity for practical, hands-on skill development.
(Note that no advance registration is required for Monday and Thursday Break-Out sessions)

Mentoring Breakfasts

Tuesday and Thursday Mentoring Breakfasts are intended for attendees with 5 years or less criminal law experience. Over a light breakfast, selected faculty will have informal discussions with attendees about common practice and file management problems, as experienced by prosecutors and defence counsel. Attendees are welcome to submit questions in advance. You may select one or both mentoring workshops. These workshops are each accredited for 1 hour or Professionalism Hours with most Law Societies. If the breakfasts reach capacity, we will limit attendance to one breakfast per person.

USB Key

All attendees will be provided with access to the program materials on the NCLP’s password-protected Intranet, operated by the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. You will be emailed your unique access information the week prior to the beginning of the Program. access will remain active for a two (2) year period, or until July 14, 2026.

First time attendees are invited to attend this reception the evening before the program (Sunday July 7, 4:30-6:00 PM). Venue TBC.

Opening Reception

All attendees are invited to the program's opening reception at the Halifax Convention Centre immediately following the end of Monday's session. No advance registration is required. (Monday July 8, 4:30 PM)

Closing Dinner

Join faculty, delegates and sponsors for our closing event on the Harbour Queen, a Mississippi-style sternwheeler where we will have dinner (reception style) and live East Coast Music. Spaces are limited – don’t miss out! Thursday July 11, 5:30-8:30 PM; Cost: $120 + tax per person.

Closing dinner tickets will be on sale until July 10, 2024 or until tickets are sold out (whichever comes first).
