Firefox

  1. In the FireFox address bar, type about:config.
  2. Look for the javascript.enabled setting.
  3. Set it to true by right-clicking and pressing toggle.

Internet Explorer

  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, then click the Security tab.
  2. Click the Internet Zone.
  3. If you do not have to customize your Internet security settings, click Default Level. Then do step 4.
  4. If you have to customize your Internet security settings, follow these steps:
    a. Click Custom Level.
    b. In the Security Settings - Internet Zone dialog box, click Enable for Active Scripting in the Scripting section.
  5. Click the Back button to return to the previous page, and then click the Refresh button to run scripts.

Chrome

  1. In the Chrome address bar, type chrome://settings/content/javascript.
  2. Adjust the toggle so that javascript is allowed.
  3. Close the Settings tab and Refresh the page.

 

Learning Academy

Residents, Fellows and Final-Year Students

The Learning Academy supports the next generation of leaders in chronic respiratory failure and long term ventilation. Thanks to a generous donation from Jim and Joanne Love, we are able to help approximately 25 trainees attend the National Conference on Long Term Ventilation 2026.

Application Deadline

October 2, 2026

Notification Timeline

Applications are reviewed on receipt. Applicants will be notified within a few days of the application date and no later than October 5, 2026.

Who is Eligible

  • Physicians — Canadian Respirology, Sleep Medicine or Critical Care residents and fellows
  • Respiratory Therapy — final-year students
  • Nursing — final-year Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner students

What you Receive

  • A travel bursary based on where you are travelling from
  • Priority choice of foundational workshops and masterclasses

Travel Bursary Bands

Travelling from Award
Toronto and the GTA Registration only
Ontario, excluding Northern Ontario Registration + $200 CAD
Northern Ontario, Quebec or Manitoba Registration + $400 CAD
All other provinces and territories Registration + $600 CAD

Bursaries are paid after the conference.

How to Apply

Please note: applying to the Learning Academy is not the same as registering for the conference. You must also complete your conference registration separately to secure your place.

Applications are submitted online. You will be asked to upload proof of trainee status, including contact or identification details for verification. Your home address will be confirmed on site at the conference with a valid Canadian driver's licence or other government-issued photo ID showing your address, so please make sure the address on your application matches your ID.

Approximately 25 spaces are available and applications are reviewed on receipt.
