University of Waterloo Research Symposium: Health and Wellbeing for All by 2030: Application of technology to global health problems
Federation Hall, University of Waterloo
Transformative research, experiential education, and entrepreneurship are the foundations for addressing complex health challenges. The symposium's theme is health technology and its applications: big data, mobile health monitoring, remote health monitoring, advances in imaging and nanomedicine for gene therapy. Preparing for the future demands more than technology development; it requires motivated researchers, students, and alumni to nurture ideas into innovation and find new health data applications that create an equitable landscape of access to care while working in partnership with clinicians, patients, healthcare providers, technology companies, and the innovation ecosystem. This symposium examines the seismic shift happening today and illuminates the opportunity to leverage our tradition in advancing the design of human-centered solutions responding to the needs of Canadians for a healthier future.
