Welcome to CCD Hot Topics 2026

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is a privilege to welcome you to the CCD Hot Topics 2026 virtual conference. Designed to address the rapidly evolving landscape of dementia research and clinical care, this year’s symposium brings together an exceptional roster of international leaders to discuss groundbreaking developments that are reshaping our field.

From the cutting edge of fluid and plasma biomarkers to the real-world implementation of disease-modifying therapies (DMTs), our program is curated to deliver concise, high-impact updates. Together, we will examine the intersections of public health, global syndemics, epidemiology, and the role of artificial intelligence in modern dementia care. We invite you to engage actively with our global community, explore the latest research abstracts, and participate in vital discussions that bridge clinical science with real-world practice.

Zahinoor Ismail, MD FRCPC
Conference Chair Professor of Psychiatry, Neurology, Epidemiology, and Pathology, University of Calgary; Clinician Scientist, Hotchkiss Brain Institute and O'Brien Institute for Public Health
