Call for Abstracts Submit Abstract
Join us virtually on Wednesday October 7, 2026. Come and share your newest and best initiatives, innovations and research in any area of Dementia and help us create another year of rich programming.
Regulations and Procedures for Abstract Submission:
- All abstract submissions must be made by the authors of the abstract.
- Authors may offer more than one abstract for submission.
- Presenting authors must be fully paid conference registrants. Abstracts attributed to presenting authors not registered by September 4, 2026 will be considered withdrawn and will not appear in the abstract publication. A full refund can be provided if the abstract submission is not selected for presentation at the conference.
- Abstracts must total 400 words or less. Scientific characters are acceptable. Diagrams and graphs will not be accepted. Please follow the instructions on the submission form.
- All abstracts are to be submitted to conferences@uhn.ca using the abstract submission form.
- All those who submit must certify that their abstract is an original work and has not been, and will not be, published in a journal prior to the event date.
- All abstracts that are approved will be presented as posters during the CCD Hot Topics poster session.
- All abstracts that are approved for the oral presentations during the New and Notable session will be given 10 minutes to present.
- The official language of the conference is English. Translation services will not be provided.
Deadline
All abstracts must be submitted no later than July 24, 2026 for work that is completed by the conference date (October 7, 2026).
Abstract Review Process
- All abstracts will be reviewed by the CCD Hot Topics Scientific Committee.
- The Committee will evaluate appropriateness and completeness of the information as well as scientific merit.
- All submissions will be acknowledged and assigned an abstract number.
- All abstract rejections made by the Committee will be final.
Notice of Status of Abstract
You will be contacted by the end of August 2026 if your abstract submission has been accepted or not. Note that you must be registered by September 4, 2026. Full refunds can be provided to unsuccessful submitters. All accepted abstracts will be presented as posters. The Scientific Committee will choose five posters for oral presentations during the conference. Accepted abstracts will be published in the Canadian Geriatrics Journal (CGJ).

Step 1: Add Primary Author

- Affiliation (please submit only 1)
- Phone number
Step 2: Add Co-Author
- First and Last Name
- Credentials (e.g. BSc)
- Affiliation (please submit only 1)
Step 3: Title
Type the title as a sentence beginning with a capital and capitalizing only proper names. Ensure the title does not contain any identifying information regarding the author(s) or organization.
Step 4: Abstract
Please address the following sections: Background/Objectives, Methods/Overview, Results, Conclusion
Note: Please do not include tables, or graphs.
Step 5: Abstract Category
Select one category from the list below which best describes your abstract:
- Clinical (clinical care programmes and outcomes, clinical trials, clinical risk factors / disease markers)
- Epidemiology, Public Health, Services, Psychosocial
- Neurobiology, Technology
- Caregivers, LTC, Services
Step 6: Preferred Presentation Format
Would you be willing to do an oral presentation? Yes or No
Should your abstract be accepted at the conference for an Oral or Poster Presentation, do you consent to having your slides/PDF Poster available on the conference web site? Yes or No
Step 7: Consent
I certify that this abstract is an original work and has not been, and will not be, published in a journal prior to the CCD Hot Topics 2026 conference.
Step 8: Submit Abstract
Submit abstract to using the online form at https://event.fourwaves.com/2026ccdht. The primary author will also receive a confirmation email.
