Alberta Professional Learning Consortium (APLC)

The Consortium (Alberta Professional Learning Consortium - APLC)consists of one provincial office (Consortium provincial francophone), which serves the Francophone education community and supports the regional office work in French Immersion and French as a Second language, and six regional offices that work with school authorities in their region.

Since 1995, we’ve cultivated a professional learning network that supports Alberta’s educators as they pursue optimal learning environments for their students. All seven offices leverage technology and collaborative planning to make learning opportunities available across the province.

With an experienced team of experts in every aspect of Alberta’s curriculum, we teach and learn alongside our ‘colleagues in the field’ to ensure we are providing barrier-free access to resources that are relevant, practical, and adaptable.

We believe in open access to high quality professional learning for every educator, in every classroom, across Alberta.

Prior to July 2024, our organization was known as the Alberta Regional Professional Development Consortium (ARPDC).

Education Abroad Canada

Education Abroad Canada (EAC) specializes in academic and cultural exchanges between Canada, France, Belgium & Spain.

The exchanges are reciprocal in nature for students in grades 9-12. EAC’s mission is to provide cultural and linguistic immersion experiences outside of Canada and to promote foreign language learning while experiencing a new culture.

On a personal level, participants will gain experience and maturity, develop increased self-confidence and autonomy, and the ability to understand the world through new lenses. The program begins with students hosting their exchange partners in their homes and schools, followed by traveling abroad to live with their partners and attend school during the second half of the exchange.

Our goal is to positively impact every child in Canada, from early years through secondary school. We do this primarily by providing programs and resources for educators that help them improve youth education and engagement in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Our robust suite of programming is available in English and French at no cost to schools, early years centers, community organizations and parents/caregivers. We also support a diverse network of volunteers, the majority of which are postsecondary students who build career-readiness skills themselves by delivering and participating in Let’s Talk Science programming.
