Firefox

  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, then click the Security tab.

  4. If you have to customize your Internet security settings, follow these steps:
    a. Click Custom Level.
    b. In the Security Settings - Internet Zone dialog box, click Enable for Active Scripting in the Scripting section.
  5. Click the Back button to return to the previous page, and then click the Refresh button to run scripts.

Chrome

  1. In the Chrome address bar, type chrome://settings/content/javascript.
  2. Adjust the toggle so that javascript is allowed.

Marcus Callister, MD

Marcus Callister, MD

Dr. Marcus Callister is a clinical fellow in neurophysiology and movement disorders at the University of Toronto. He completed medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center followed by neurology residency and a clinical neurophysiology - electromyography (EMG) fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. His major interest is using movement clinical neurophysiology techniques to aid clinical diagnosis and guide treatment selection and response monitoring for medications, rehabilitation, non-invasive brain stimulation, and other treatment interventions. He and his wife Natalie are the happy parents of 5 energetic children.

Robert Chen, MA, MBBChir, MSc, FRCPC

Dr. Robert Chen received his MA and medical (MBBChir) degrees from University of Cambridge. He undertook Neurology residency at the University of Western Ontario (Canada), and fellowship at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke in Bethesda, Maryland, USA. He is currently Professor of Medicine (Neurology) at University of Toronto, Senior Scientist at Krembil Research Institute, Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Neurophysiology and Associate Editor of Movement Disorders. His clinical and research interests include transcranial magnetic and ultrasound stimulation, neurophysiology and treatment of movement disorders, mapping of brain connectivity using functional magnetic imaging and electroencephalography, electromyography and neurophysiological assessment of the respiratory system. He has published over 410 research papers, a book on Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and edited two volumes of Handbook of Clinical Neurology on Respiratory Neurobiology.

Talyta Grippe, MD, PhD

Talyta Grippe, MD, PhD

Talyta Grippe is a clinical fellow in neurophysiology and movement disorders at the University of Toronto. She completed her medical degree, neurology and clinical electrophysiology (EMG) residency in Brazil, followed by a PhD at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in collaboration with the University of Toronto. Talyta is passionate about using neurophysiological studies to improve the diagnosis and treatment of movement disorders. Her primary research interests focus on the use of neurophysiological techniques and non-invasive neuromodulation as tools for studying neurological physiology and exploring potential therapeutic applications. She is currently a member of the MDS Study Group on Clinical Neurophysiology in Movement Disorders.

Karlo Lizarraga, MD, MSc

Karlo Lizarraga, MD, MSc

Dr. Lizarraga is a board-certified neurologist and clinical neurophysiologist with additional training in movement disorders, motor physiology and neuromodulation. Dr. Lizarraga is associate professor of neurology, neuroscience, and neurosurgery at the University of Rochester, New York, where he is the founding director of the Motor Physiology and Neuromodulation Program. As part of this program, Dr. Lizarraga applies neurophysiological techniques for clinical and research purposes in people with movement disorders who are treated by deep brain stimulation.

Katherine (Katie) Longardner, MD

Katherine (Katie) Longardner, MD

Katherine (Katie) Longardner, MD, is a board-certified neurologist and clinical researcher at University of California San Diego (UCSD), where she has worked as faculty since 2020. Dr. Longardner completed her internship, neurology residency, and two-year movement disorder fellowship at UCSD Health. She earned her medical degree at Florida State University College of Medicine.

Dr. Longardner's clinical practice includes diagnosing and treating a variety of adult movement disorders, focusing on tremor, Parkinson's disease, and atypical parkinsonian disorders. Her research interests include utilizing non-invasive electrophysiological techniques to study movement disorders such as tremor and parkinsonian non-motor symptoms, especially the relationship between orthostatic hypotension and cognitive dysfunction in alpha-synucleinopathies.

Shabbir Merchant, MD

Shabbir Merchant, MD

Shabbir Merchant, is Assistant Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School/ Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Fellowship Director of Movement disorders program. His clinical practice involves treatment of neurological disorders with a special focus on the diagnosis and treatment of movement disorders. He has a special interest in clinical neurophysiology for objective diagnosis and phenotyping of movement disorders and directs the motor control physiology laboratory. He also utilizes ultrasound and EMG guided botulinum toxin injections for the precise identification of muscles for treatment and rehabilitation of a variety of neurological disorders such as dystonia’s and spasticity from various etiologies. He has leadership roles in the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society. He was the co-chair of the Task Force on Clinical Neurophysiology in Movement disorders and currently serves as the chair of the executive committee of Study Group on Clinical Neurophysiology in Movement Disorders.

Felipe Vial, MD

Felipe Vial, MD

Felipe Vial is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago, Chile. His expertise focuses on the use of neurophysiological techniques for diagnosing movement disorders, with particular emphasis on functional movement disorders. Additionally, he has contributed to the design and development of software and hardware for diagnostic neurophysiology.
