Expert panel: turning challenges into opportunities
This year's virtual event brings together speakers to reflect on challenges and opportunities for women in STEM, in their roles as scientists, innovators, and leaders, in the context of the challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
To move Canada's science and innovation priorities forward, Canada, and the world, need full participation from women in STEM. In the wake of the disruption caused by the pandemic, many experts are raising concerns on the disproportionate impacts on underrepresented groups, including women in scientific communities. At the same time, change driven by disruption has created some opportunities in areas like remote working and flexible hours. Our panel will reflect on what the year 2020 has shown us about gender equality, and consider what this means for women in STEM and leadership in a post-pandemic world.
E-poster session and moderated scientific discussions
Women in STEM from all federal government departments and agencies are invited to submit an e-poster.
In advance of the Symposium, a link to the e-poster session will be provided to all registrants, with an opportunity to view the results and the solutions from research by women in STEM in the federal government. Connect with peers and make new contacts through chat for each poster presentation.
Our moderated scientific discussions will feature presentations from the e-poster session.
