Adam Chehouri Senior Blade Engineer
Adam Chehouri Senior Blade Engineer DNV
Blades are the most loaded, most exposed, and often the least understood components of a wind turbine. Adam's work sits at that intersection: understanding why blades fail, how failures could have been anticipated, and what owners, operators, and lenders should do about it.
As a Senior Blade Engineer at DNV, Adam supports root cause analyses of blade failures, factory and manufacturing quality assessments, leading edge erosion and protection studies, vibration risk assessments, and risk-based inspection program development for wind projects.
Previously, Adam served as Team Lead in DNV's Independent Engineering Wind Technology team, supporting technical due diligence for North American onshore wind projects: turbine technology risk assessments, construction monitoring, operational condition reviews, and site suitability analyses.
Adam is a licensed Professional Engineer (OIQ) and holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, where his doctoral research applied computational intelligence and stochastic optimization to preliminary wind turbine blade design. Adam writes and speaks regularly on blade quality and durability, contributing to conference panels and technical publications.
Murray Fisher Principal Wind Turbine Consultant
Murray Fisher Principal Wind Turbine Consultant DNV
Dr. Murray Fisher is a Principal Wind Turbine Consultant with more than 20 years of experience in turbine investigations, root cause analysis, loads assessment, technology development, and operational asset advisory. He has supported owners, operators, lenders, manufacturers, and research partners across onshore and offshore wind projects. His work spans forensic investigations, technical due diligence, operational assessments, failure risk evaluation, and engineering decision support. He has led multidisciplinary investigations into blade, structural, manufacturing, environmental, and operational issues affecting turbine reliability and performance. His experience includes assessing wind loading, lightning, extreme weather, dynamic response, product deviations, repair quality, and asset condition. He has developed and applied aerodynamic, aeroelastic, structural, vibration, and fluid-structure interaction models for turbine design and failure assessment. He has managed complex, multi-million-dollar engineering and research programs from initial scope and FMEA-based risk assessment through execution and reporting. His leadership roles at Gulf Wind Technology, DNV, LM Wind Power, and GE Renewable Energy combine hands-on technical analysis with team and client management. He has developed risk assessment frameworks for offshore wind turbines exposed to hurricanes and typhoons. His field experience includes test campaigns, inspection and measurement methods, product issue containment, corrective actions, and retrofit development. He has advised clients during technical discussions with turbine manufacturers and supported decisions related to risk mitigation, contracts, and operational strategy. He brings a practical combination of forensic engineering, loads expertise, technical communication, and risk-based asset management to complex turbine issues.
