Opening Prayer & Welcome Remarks Prior to ascending to the Father, Jesus told his disciples: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age’” (Matthew 28:16-20). Here we find our mission as baptized Catholics. We are called to make disciples. Our inspiration comes from remembering that Jesus is always with us. This is foundational to faith as it encourages hope. Bishop Bergie’s address will focus on how Ontario Catholic School Trustees, inspired by their Catholic faith, can be united in the mission to make disciples. Eucharistic Celebration | 2026 Catholic Education Song – Pilgrims of Hope: On the Path to Holiness OCSTA Resolution Process In this keynote, Dr. David Coletto explores how Catholic School Boards can lead with confidence in an age defined by precarity and uncertainty. Drawing on new public opinion data, he shows how rising anxiety, rapid social change, and shifting expectations are reshaping how families, staff, and communities experience education. Coletto argues that what people need most right now is reassurance—clear purpose, compassionate leadership, and institutions they can trust. He outlines practical strategies for Boards to strengthen connection, build stability, and communicate with authenticity, offering a hopeful path forward for Catholic education in a challenging and transformative moment.
