Director, Gladstone Headache Clinic, Consultant Neurologist, Headache Clinic, Hospital for Sick Children, Consultant Staff, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, University Health Network, Consultant Neurologist Toronto Raptors, Toronto Blue Jays, Raptors 905 Dr. Gladstone is a consultant neurologist with a practice dedicated to Headache Medicine and Head Injury Medicine. Dr. Gladstone completed both his Doctor of Medicine degree and the Neurology Residency Program at the University of Toronto. He completed a one-year Headache Medicine Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Gladstone is the Director of the Gladstone Headache Clinic in Toronto. For more than a decade, Dr. Gladstone was a consultant neurologist at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute in the WSIB Neurology Specialty Program and he led the neurological assessments for the Complex Injury Outpatient Rehabilitation Program (assessing and guiding the multidisciplinary rehabilitation and medical management of individuals who had sustained, or had been queried to have sustained, traumatic brain injuries in workplace or motor vehicle accidents). Dr. Gladstone is also a Headache Specialist at The Hospital for Sick Children and Cleveland. Dr. Gladstone is the Consultant Neurologist for the Toronto Raptors, Toronto Blue Jays, and Toronto Raptors 905. Dr. Gladstone has authored more than 100 refereed publications, invited reviews, abstracts, and textbook chapters. Dr. Gladstone has delivered more than 250 invited lectures nationally and internationally. He has been the chair of the Headache Therapy course at the American Academy of Neurology annual meeting and the Headache course at the annual Canadian Congress of Neurological Sciences meeting. Dr. Gladstone is a past president of the Canadian Headache Society. He has been involved in the guideline creation for the Canadian Headache Society (acute, prophylactic, and Emergency Department Management), the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation (approach to persisting symptoms following cerebral concussion/mild traumatic brain injury), the Ontario Ministry of Health (expert panel on neuroimaging for chronic headaches), and for the United States Department of Defense (guidelines for the management of persisting headaches following concussion/traumatic brain injury). Dr. Gladstone has a particular interest in persisting symptoms following concussion/traumatic brain injury and he performs IMEs in these areas for a wide range of referral sources. Dr. Gladstone also has a particular interest in headache-related and head-injury-related disability assessments. Physiotherapist, Integrated Movement Disorders Program, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute Rory Higgins is
the physiotherapist in the Integrated Movement Disorders Program (IMDP) at
Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. He holds an MSc in Physiotherapy from Glasgow
Caledonian University and an MSc in Global Mental Health from the University of
Glasgow, UK. He has had a diverse career working at multiple tertiary centres
across the UK national health service including major trauma, neuropsychiatry,
neurology and functional neurological disorder (FND). Prior to joining the
IMDP, he was a research physiotherapist at City St George’s, University of
London, UK, working alongside the team conducting the Physio4FMD trial,
researching functional somatosensory symptoms, and working clinically in an
outpatient service for FND. Mental Health Clinician, Integrated Movement Disorders Program, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute Brenna Kelly, MSW, RSW, is a registered social worker with a
background in working with individuals and families. Currently practicing at
Toronto Rehabilitation Institute in the Integrated Movement Disorders Program,
Brenna specializes in individual and integrated counselling for people with
Functional Neurological Disorder and/or Parkinson’s Disease. Her work focuses
on navigating complex systems and promoting client-centered recovery. Brenna is
passionate about health equity and the social determinants of health, with a
commitment to amplifying the voices of people with movement disorders. Global Director Sports Neurology The Kutcher Clinic for Sports Neurology Detroit, MI Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher is a sports neurologist at the University of Michigan, and director of Michigan NeuroSport, an academic and clinical program focused on improving the neurological care of athletes. His career path began on the ice rinks of Southeast Michigan, where a lifetime of playing hockey provided him with the athlete's perspective. His academic training began with a BS from the University of Michigan. He received his MD from the Tulane University School of Medicine and returned to the University of Michigan for his neurology residency. Dr. Kutcher has been on staff at the University of Michigan since 2002. Dr. Kutcher is also a team physician for the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University athletic programs and medical director of the Eastern Michigan University Athletic Training Program. His research interests include developing clinical tools for the diagnosis of concussion, risk factors for concussion, and the relationship between concussion and migraine headache. Dr. Kutcher is chair of the sports neurology section of the American Academy of Neurology. Staff Neurologist, University Health Network Dr. Sarah Lidstone is the Director of the Integrated Movement Disorders Program, an interdisciplinary precision rehabilitation program at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. She is a movement disorders neurologist and an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. Dr. Lidstone completed her residency in neurology and her fellowship in movement disorders at the University of Toronto. Prior to this, she completed her PhD in Neuroscience at the University of British Columbia studying the placebo effect in Parkinson’s Disease. During her training she also spent time in the United Kingdom, Switzerland and The Netherlands learning about diverse models used in the care of movement disorders. Her research focuses on developing and testing novel therapy approaches with an emphasis on rehabilitation that targets the integration of physical and mental health, and the development of self-management skills. Dr. Lidstone is passionate about the integration of the brain, mind and body, empowering patients with education, and partnering with patients in all elements of her work. Research Interests: Functional movement disorder, Neurorehabilitation, Virtual rehabilitation, Parkinson's disease, Integrated care, Patient co-design Associate Professor in both the Department of Psychiatry and the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto Dr. Snaiderman is an Associate Professor in both the Department of Psychiatry and the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He is the founding director of the Neuropsychiatry Clinic at the University Health Network -Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, Brain and Spinal Cord Program where he has worked for almost 30 years. He has been involved in the field of physical and neurologic trauma for over 30 years.
As a clinician teacher he has been involved in training medical students, residents, fellows and ancillary health professionals as well as the general public for over 25 years. He is a member of the Exam Board and examiner in Psychiatry for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is the winner of the Ivan Silver Award for Excellence in Mental Health Education given by the University of Toronto. He is the vice chair of the board of directors of Community Head Injury Services and a member of several advisory boards for guidelines and programs in acquired brain injury and stroke, and other organizations, initiatives and programs. In his spare time, he plays guitar and flute much to the dismay of his family and neighbours. Neurologist, Krembil Clinician Investigator, Krembil Research Institute, University of Toronto Dr. Carmela Tartaglia is a professor and Clinician- Scientist at the University of Toronto. She received her medical degree from McGill University, completed her residency at the University of Western Ontario and did three years of clinical/research fellowship in cognitive /behavioral neurology at the University of California, San Francisco Memory and Aging Centre. She maintains a cognitive/behavioral clinic where she sees people with neurodegenerative disease and post-concussion syndrome within the UHN Memory Clinic. Her clinical and research interests lie in neurodegenerative diseases with a focus on frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) and possible chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
