Thank you for your interest in the 49th Annual Toronto Thoracic Surgery Refresher Conference. Registration for the 2025 event is now open.
Join leading minds in thoracic surgery, oncology, and pulmonary medicine for two dynamic days of cutting-edge science, surgical innovation, and collaborative discussion. Held June 6–7, 2025, this premier event will feature groundbreaking sessions that explore the evolving landscape of lung and esophageal cancer diagnosis, treatment, and technology.
From targeted therapies and lung cancer screening advancements to in-depth tumor boards and real-time intraoperative imaging techniques, the program dives deep into the most pressing clinical questions and latest evidence. Day 1 spotlights lung cancer and thoracic oncology with thought-provoking lectures, including the FG Pearson and RJ Ginsberg keynotes, and a high-stakes pro/con debate on surgery for oligometastatic lung cancer.
Day 2 expands the conversation to esophageal diseases, minimally invasive surgical strategies, and complex perioperative management, capped off with a lunchtime video session featuring state-of-the-art robotic techniques.
Whether you're a surgeon, oncologist, pulmonologist, or clinical researcher, this conference offers unparalleled opportunities to learn, debate, and connect with leaders shaping the future of thoracic care.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of the dialogue driving tomorrow’s breakthroughs—register today!
Learning Objectives:
• Apply emerging strategies in lung cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment, including the use of advanced imaging, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy for Stage 2/3 and oligometastatic disease.
• Evaluate and compare surgical approaches for thoracic malignancies, incorporating data from recent trials on sublobar vs. lobar resection and innovations in minimally invasive and robotic techniques.
• Integrate multidisciplinary decision-making through tumor boards and expert panels to manage complex thoracic oncology cases such as small cell lung cancer, mediastinal tumors, and mesothelioma.
• Identify and address disparities in thoracic cancer care, proposing actionable strategies to improve screening and treatment access in underserved populations.
• Advance clinical decision-making in esophageal and foregut disease, including management of treatment-resistant cancers, robotic esophagectomy, and fundoplication during paraesophageal hernia repair.
