The Neuro Connect: Brain Connectivity and White Matter Dissection International Course was designed as a longitudinal program to build and foster a community of practice. Offering a unique hybrid approach to learning, participants of Neuro Connect will be given access to a learning management system to explore pre-learning materials in preparation for the October 13 -15, 2023 in-person conference in Toronto, ON Canada.

We are pleased to provide a hybrid model, allowing participants to choose from 2 offerings, either in-person or virtual.

NeuroConnect has been developed to ensure those specializing in brain connectivity and white matter dissection receive support in their ability to positively impact their patient populations. This course offers a comprehensive approach to learning, providing participants the opportunity to:

  • Create and sustain a community of practice for those in the subspecialized field of brain connectivity and white matter dissection.
  • Build confidence through surgical skills training delivered by experts in the field.
  • Access to a Centre of excellence that promotes evidence based research to deepen learning for early career surgeons

During this 2.5-day course, attendees will be exposed to the cortical anatomy and mainly subcortical brain connectivity investigating the trajectory, morphology and functional anatomy of the major white matter tracts via the white matter dissection technique, DTI-based tractography technique and didactic sessions. Moreover, exposure to brain mapping techniques, fMRI, neuro-anesthesia, and neuro-psychological aspects will be provided. The faculty and participants will discuss how these modalities can be incorporated in the armamentarium of the modern surgical neuro-oncologist but also how they can benefit the modern neurologist, neuroradiologist and neuropsychologist.
