Firefox

  1. In the FireFox address bar, type about:config.
  2. Look for the javascript.enabled setting.
  3. Set it to true by right-clicking and pressing toggle.

Internet Explorer

  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, then click the Security tab.
  2. Click the Internet Zone.
  3. If you do not have to customize your Internet security settings, click Default Level. Then do step 4.
  4. If you have to customize your Internet security settings, follow these steps:
    a. Click Custom Level.
    b. In the Security Settings - Internet Zone dialog box, click Enable for Active Scripting in the Scripting section.
  5. Click the Back button to return to the previous page, and then click the Refresh button to run scripts.

Chrome

  1. In the Chrome address bar, type chrome://settings/content/javascript.
  2. Adjust the toggle so that javascript is allowed.
  3. Close the Settings tab and Refresh the page.

 

Councillors and Delegates Training Session

Building on the success of the Egg Farmers of Ontario Board Training and Development Program, this is the first training module offered to Councillors and Delegates. Build your capacity and knowledge to become a stronger Councillor/Delegate and represent your industry more effectively!

Fast-paced, dynamic and practical, this interactive training workshop is an opportunity for Councillors and Delegates to gain valuable insight from leading subject matter experts on governance, interpersonal communications, conflict and group dynamics, while also having the opportunity to share their own best practices with each other.

The workshop will be interactive, thought provoking and combine self assessments, personal reflections and perspectives from both an interpersonal communications focus and a governance focus. Participants will be able to assess their communication style, their listening preferences and their conflict style in an engaging and activity-based format. Participants will emerge from this program with new insights and a sharpened skill set needed to serve effectively.

  • Determine your communication style and develop strategies for interacting with communication styles unlike your own
  • Use effective persuasion and listening skills in dealings with members, institutions and business associates
  • Identify barriers to communication and strategies to overcome them
  • Identify causes and effects of conflict styles and the benefits/disadvantages for each one
  • Develop strategies to address conflict in a healthy manner
  • Communicate effectively, even in crisis situations
