  5. Click the Back button to return to the previous page, and then click the Refresh button to run scripts.

Chrome

  1. In the Chrome address bar, type chrome://settings/content/javascript.
  2. Adjust the toggle so that javascript is allowed.

Hannah Albrechtsons is a registered occupational therapist who received her Master of Occupational Therapy degree from the University of Toronto. She is passionate about supporting patients who are experiencing mental illness helping them to achieve their goals, learn coping skills and strengthen their resilience. She is skilled in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness-based treatment interventions. Hannah provides support to patients through short term individual counseling sessions and co-facilitating psychotherapy groups run through the Poul Hansen Family Centre for Depression.

Cristina Barrios is a bilingual registered social worker (English & Spanish) who completed her Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto. She has experience working in mental health and addictions with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. She is passionate about providing patient-centered care and empowering patients in developing skills to cope with their mental health concerns and stressors. Cristina’s therapeutic approach draws from various therapeutic modalities that meet her patient’s unique needs: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-focused Therapy.

Lauren Carrique is a registered social worker who completed her Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto. She has experience working with various patient populations, including those living with addictions and those with complex medical needs. She holds a certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University, as well as additional clinical trainings in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and other therapeutic modalities. At the Poul Hansen Centre for Depression, Lauren works with patients in both individual and group settings to provide psychotherapy and system navigation support.

Dr. Cassandra Crangle is a Clinical and Rehabilitation Psychologist at UHN Altum Health at Toronto Western Hospital. She completed her PhD at Toronto Metropolitan University and pre-doctoral residency in health and rehabilitation at London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care London. As a staff psychologist at Altum Health for over 6 years, Dr. Crangle provides assessment and treatment services for individuals who have sustained musculoskeletal and/or mental health injuries in the workplace. She works as a part of a multidisciplinary team drawing upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy models to help facilitate rehabilitation, recovery and return to work.

Marla Kaye

Marla Kaye is the Senior Clinical Manager at the Centre for Mental Health leading a portfolio of interdisciplinary outpatient mental health clinics and community programs. She is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals. She has 30 years of experience in the mental health field. Before joining UHN in 2018, Marla was a Program Manager of Counselling Services at the Canadian Hearing Society and had a successful private practice in Toronto.

She has presented twice at the national conference for the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association on the topics of Making Your Services Accessible to Deaf and Hard of Hearing Clients and Burnout Prevention and Care: Increasing Clinical Resiliencies Through Mindfulness Compassion Practices. Marla is co-chair of the Acute Care Programs Leadership Forum at UHN. A champion of patient-centred care, she is committed to supporting staff in delivering accessible quality service and treatment.

Madeline Li

Madeline Li is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, and a cancer psychiatrist and Lead of Psychosocial Oncology at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. In addition to clinical practice in cancer psychiatry, she conducts collaborative research in the areas of psychoneuroimmunology and psychosocial oncology. She has expertise in end of life care, emotional distress screening and management of mood disorders in cancer. She has authored several publications, guidelines and interprofessional education resources in psycho-oncology.

Michael Mak is a sleep medicine specialist and staff psychiatrist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, and an Adjunct Research Professor at Western University. He is currently the Site Director for Undergraduate Medical Education at CAMH and the PGY5/Transition to Practice coordinator for the postgraduate Psychiatry training program at the University of Toronto. He serves on the Education Committees of the Canadian Psychiatric Association and American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He was named Fellow of the Canadian Psychiatric Association in 2022. Dr. Mak was elected Vice President, Clinical of the Canadian Sleep Society in 2023. He was named Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine in 2024.

Joshua Rosenblat

Joshua Rosenblat is a staff psychiatrist and clinician-researcher at the Mood Disorders Psychopharmacology Unit (MDPU; within UHN’s Poul Hansen Family Centre for Depression) at Toronto Western Hospital. Dr. Rosenblat’s clinical focus is treatment-resistant mood disorders and suicide prevention. His research focus is conducting clinical trials to identify and evaluate novel interventions for mood disorders that may substantially improve patient outcomes. More specifically, he is currently testing ketamine and psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy for treatment resistant depression in both major depressive disorder and bipolar disorder, with several ongoing clinical trials. For these trials, he is also collecting biomarkers (brain scans, EEG, blood-based biomarkers, cognitive testing, wearable movement monitors, etc.) to help predict which patients may be most likely to respond to these novel interventions. Dr. Rosenblat is also actively involved in teaching medical students and residents, with a focus on improving assessment and management skills using a biopsychosocial-spiritual approach in every patient encounter.

Rickinder Sethi

Rickinder Sethi is a staff psychiatrist at UHN’s Poul Hansen Family Centre for Depression. He also provides psychiatric care in under-serviced clinics within Ontario. He completed his medical degree at the Medical University of the Americas in the West Indies and completed his residency training in the Department of Psychiatry at Western University. After residency, Dr. Sethi completed a fellowship in Psycho-Oncology and end-of-life care at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto. Dr. Sethi completed his Master of Science in Clinical Service Operations at Harvard University. He has a clinical interest in innovative approaches to difficult-to-treat depression, including rTMS, ketamine and psilocybin.

Martin Svihra

Dr. Martin Svihra is a staff psychiatrist at the UHN Centre for Mental Health and assistant professor at University of Toronto. He is the Medical Director of UHN Altum Health’s Mental Health Program, which includes the WSIB Mental Health Specialty Program and Employer/Insurer Assessment Services. Dr. Svihra completed his BSC in 1999 at Queen’s University, followed by his MD at University of Ottawa in 2003. He completed his residency in psychiatry at University of Toronto in 2008. His clinical work at Altum Health is focused on assessment and treatment of injured workers who have sustained musculoskeletal, neurological and primary mental health injuries to support recovery and return-to-work. He has additional experience in General Outpatient Psychiatry, Emergency Psychiatry and Collaborative Care. He is involved in teaching and clinical supervision of medical students and residents.

Sheri Van Dijk

Sheri Van Dijk is a social worker who has been working with clients with severe mental health problems since 2000. With extensive experience in a hospital as well as community setting, she now sees clients in private practice, and provides consultation and training internationally to other clinicians. Sheri has had extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness and has been providing DBT-informed therapy to individuals and groups since 2004. In 2010 at the Canadian Psychiatric Association Conference, she received the R.O. Jones Award for her research on using DBT with bipolar disorder. Sheri is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is an EMDRIA-approved Consultant. She is also a member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD). Sheri is the author of several books that focus on helping readers learn DBT skills and apply them to a variety of mental health problems, including the best-selling Don’t Let Your Emotions Run Your Life for Teens and The DBT Workbook for Emotional Relief. She is currently working on her newest book, The DBT Skills Workbook for C-PTSD.

Daphne Voineskos

Daphne Voineskos currently serves as the Scientific Director and Medical Lead of UHN’s Poul Hansen Family Centre for Depression, Medical Lead of UHN’s rTMS Clinic, psychiatrist at the Poul Hansen Family Centre for Depression, and Clinician-Investigator with the Krembil Research Institute. Additionally, she is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, where she is completing her three-year term as the Labatt Family Professor in Depression Biology. She is also a Clinician Scientist at the Temerty Centre for Therapeutic Brain Intervention at CAMH. Her research, recognized locally, nationally, and internationally, includes receiving the prestigious John C. Polanyi Prize in Physiology/Medicine and recognition from the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Voineskos is a principal investigator or co-investigator on several studies aiming to optimize and personalize brain stimulation delivery. She is also dedicated to mentoring graduate students and medical trainees. Her research focuses on the neurobiological mechanisms of treatment-resistant depression, with the translational goal of integrating these scientific findings into clinical care.

Alan Wai

Alan Wai is a staff psychiatrist and clinician-teacher in the Division of Medical Psychiatry, and currently serves as the interim fellowship site director at UHN Centre for Mental Health. He is a lecturer and also acts as the Consultation-Liaison-Psychiatry rotation coordinator for the Department of Psychiatry, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. He completed his medical training at University of British Columbia and psychiatry residency at University of Toronto. He is particularly interested in caring for those who have overlapping mental and physical health concerns.
