Brought to you by CCE Medical/Samsung, this workshop includes hands-on demonstration of US exam approach for the assessment of the joint and soft tissue structures, including dynamic assessment to assist in diagnostic assessment. Assessment of the shoulder, wrist and hand, knee and ankle are common MSK ultrasound requests. It is important to have an approach when performing the ultrasound examination for proper diagnosis and to avoid pitfalls. Understanding how to perform dynamic maneuvers will assist in diagnostic accuracy.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the session, participants will improve their approach to ultrasound assessment of the shoulder, wrist and hand, knee and ankle, and diagnosis of common pathologic conditions.

1. Review anatomy and ultrasound imaging techniques for evaluation of the shoulder, wrist and hand, knee and ankle.

2. Describe useful imaging techniques to enhance assessment.

3. Discuss ultrasound imaging of common pathologic musculoskeletal that are commonly encountered in daily activities.
