Liver steatosis has emerged from being considered a disorder of nutritional extremes or alcohol excess to contemporary recognition as a complex metabolic disorder that risks progression to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. 

This talk will provide a synopsis on the categorization,  risks, diagnosis and staging of Metabolic Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (previously known as NAFLD - non-alcoholic fatty liver disease) as well as the role of the Sonography in its management.  Discussion on liver B-Mode ultrasound, Attenuation Sonography and Transient and Shear Wave Elastography will be included.
