Bio

Margarita M. López-Uribe is the Lorenzo L. Langstroth Early Career Professor and Assistant Professor in the Department of Entomology at Penn State University. She received her BS in Biology from Universidad de los Andes (Colombia), her MS in Genetics and Evolution from Universidade Federal de São Carlos (Brazil), and her Ph.D. in Entomology from Cornell University (USA). She is an evolutionary ecologist and extension specialist in pollinator health, and her research focuses on understanding how environmental change and human management shape bee health and long-term persistence of their populations in agricultural areas.
