Firefox

  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, then click the Security tab.

  4. If you have to customize your Internet security settings, follow these steps:
    a. Click Custom Level.
    b. In the Security Settings - Internet Zone dialog box, click Enable for Active Scripting in the Scripting section.
  5. Click the Back button to return to the previous page, and then click the Refresh button to run scripts.

Chrome

  1. In the Chrome address bar, type chrome://settings/content/javascript.
  2. Adjust the toggle so that javascript is allowed.
  3. Close the Settings tab and Refresh the page.

    If you live in an HSA co-op, new legislation requires that you sign a partnership agreement with your service manager when your mortgage is paid off. Learn how you can navigate your co-op to a successful future.
  • Make Better Decisions for your Housing Co-op - Agency's Self-Assessment Action Plan (Federal)
    CMHC's Rental Assistance Program (FCHI-2) has introduced a new requirement - submitting an Action Plan every three years. Co-ops are using these Action Plans to set goals that will improve their own long-term operational practices while helping to strengthen the co-op housing sector. Discuss the five different focus areas where co-ops can set goals: governance, social inclusion, financial viability, asset management and sustainability. (Facilitator to be announced.)

On October 1st, 2023, permanent changes to the Co-operative Corporations Act to allow electronic meetings and elections came into effect. learn all about how the changes to the Act and the Organizational bylaw affect your co-op.

Making Democracy work at your co-op: Engaged Elections with Caroline Chapman
Every Co-op needs a good Board of Directors - a Board that makes wise decisions, represents the members, gives strong leadership, and inspires the confidence of the members. good election process can't guarantee the co-op a good board, but it can improve the odds. Good elections require planning and hard work. This is doubly true under the new election rules for housing co-ops.

Workshop leaders
Caroline Chapman, Program Manager, Co-op and planning services, Ontario Region, CHF Canada
Caroline has over 10 years of experience in co-op housing property management and is a strong and effective communicator. She has a background and skills in marketing and sales and holds a Bachelor in English Language and Literature for Queens University. She ahs undertaken business, leadership and management training. Caroline hopes both her business background and co-op management experience will be a helpful resource to others in the sector.

Peter Gesiarz, Regional Manager, Ontario, CHF Canada
Peter has over 30 years of housing sector experience. He has worked with Tim Welsh Consulting Inc., Community First Development Inc., The Agency for Co-operative Housing, Champlain Valley Mutual Housing Federation, Guelph Campus Co-op, Marketview Housing Co-op and Ujamaa Housing Co-op. He was also a member and president of Bread and Roses Co-operative Homes Inc. Peter has been with CHF Canada for eight years.

Cancellation policy

All cancellations must be made at least 3 days prior to the event, and a $20 cancellation fee will apply. No refund will be issued for cancellations received less that 3 days prior to the event.
