Conflict happens, but it does not have to divide us. Learn what is mediation and what it is not. This session will leave you feeling more confident in finding common ground.

Great co-ops rely on members who understand their role. This session explores how you can contribute meaningfully to governance and decision making. Build your confidence and make your voice count.

Sheriff Wiredu - Program Manager Co-op and Planning Services, Ontario Region at CHF Canada
Sheriff brings energy, curiosity, and a global perspective to everything he does. With more than 10 years of experience in community development, governance, and program management, Sheriff has worked with organizations and communities across Canada, Malawi, Vietnam, and South Korea, helping turn innovative ideas into meaningful action. A passionate advocate for affordable housing, social inclusion, and strong community governance, Sheriff enjoys helping boards and members navigate challenges with practical solutions—and the occasional dose of humour.
Shawn Conway – Professional Mediator and Alternative Dispute Resolution Trainer
Shawn has several years’ experience in the co-op sector as workshop facilitator and chair. Shawn is known as a bridge builder, facilitator and coach for co-ops challenged by conflict, difficult conversations and distress.
Heather Kennedy – Program Manager, Transformation, Ontario Region at CHF Canada
Heather is an energetic and enthusiastic workshop leader who brings more than 25 years of experience in the co-operative housing sector. Throughout her career, Heather has served as a co-op member, staff member, meeting chair and facilitator, property manager, and program manager, giving her a broad understanding of co-operative governance and operations. She believes that education should provide participants with the knowledge and practical tools they need to be effective volunteers while also being engaging, interactive, and enjoyable.

Discounts
Early bird registration discount: Register online before October 3,
2026 and save $20 on each registration fee.
Additional participant discount: Once you've registered one participant, you'll save $50 on each
additional registration from your co-op.
Young member discount: Once you've registered one participant, each additional young member
(under 35 years) is free.
Travel rebate for member co-ops: If you live more than 100km away from the event venue, we will provide a
$100 travel rebate per co-op.

Scent-free Event
This is a scent-free event. Please do not use scented products like fragrances and perfumes, colognes, aftershaves, hand creams or hand sanitizers.
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made at least 3 days prior to the event, and a $20 cancellation fee will apply. No refund will be issued for cancellations received less than 3 days prior to the event.
