Session Selection

Tuesday/Thursday Workshop Selection

Registrants can select between two workshop options, each featuring a session on Tuesday and another on Thursday. These workshops offer the opportunity for practical, hands-on skill development.
Note: The NCLP also offers multiple break-out sessions on Monday and Thursday afternoon, however selection for these sessions is made onsite therefore no pre-registration is required.

Mentoring Breakfasts

Tuesday and Thursday Mentoring Breakfasts are intended for attendees with 5 years or less criminal law experience. Over a light breakfast, selected faculty will have informal discussions with attendees about common practice and file management problems, as experienced by prosecutors and defence counsel. Attendees are welcome to submit questions in advance. You may select one or both mentoring workshops. These workshops are each accredited for 1 hour or Professionalism Hours with most Law Societies. If the breakfasts reach capacity, we will limit attendance to one breakfast per person.

All attendees will be provided with access to the program materials on the NCLP’s password-protected Intranet, operated by the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. You will be emailed your unique access information the week prior to the beginning of the Program. access will remain active for a two (2) year period, or until July 14, 2027.

First Timer's Reception

First time attendees are invited to attend this reception the evening before the program (Sunday July 6, 4:30-6:00 PM). Venue TBC.

Opening Reception

All attendees are invited to the program's opening reception at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver Perspectives (34th Floor) immediately following the end of Monday's session. No advance registration is required. (Monday July 7, 4:30 PM)

Closing Dinner

Join us at the Hyatt Regency for a plated dinner and a festive celebration of the NCLP's 50th anniversary, marking a memorable conclusion to this year's program. Thursday July 10, 6:30-10:00 PM; Cost: $175 + tax per person.

Faculty Dinner: Guest Ticket

The Faculty Dinner will take place on Tuesday July 8th. Location will be confirmed at a later date. Faculty attendance is complimentary but you may purchase a ticket for a spouse or partner to attend.

Faculty Hotel Accommodation

Faculty will be staying at the Hyatt Regency, 655 Burrard St, Vancouver, BC V6C 2R7. We will make a reservation on your behalf based on the dates submitted here. Please note that only the nights of Saturday July 5th to Thursday July 10th will be covered for most. We will cover the night of the 11th for those on the East Coast who are not able to return on the 11th. Room and taxes for these 6 nights (including in room internet access) will be charged to the Federation of Law Societies with the exception of Federally appointed judges who will pay directly. All incidentals, extensions to your stay and upgrades will be charged to you.

If you would like to extend your stay, please notify us asap and no later than Friday June 14th. Additional nights will be at your own expense (Faculty rate is $399/night) and will be subject to availability.

  • All cancellations must be sent in writing to nclpcoordinator@flsc.ca.
  • Registration cancellations must be received in writing, on or before May 31, 2025 for a refund to be issued. A $50.00 cancellation fee + GST will be withheld from any registration cancellation refund. If you cancel your registration you will not receive program materials or any other items ordered during registration.
  • Cancellation of Program add-ons such as Print or USB materials,T-Shirts or dinner tickets will be fully refunded up until May 31, 2025. No refunds will be issued following that date.
  • No refunds will be issued after May 31, 2025, for any reason, including work related changes, or weather or travel disruption, unless the Program itself is cancelled.
  • Changes to speakers, content, dates and venues may be necessary. In the event of program cancellation, our liability is limited to reimbursement of paid fees.
  • Once a notice of cancellation has been received, no substitutions will be permitted.
