Jennifer Layton is a second discipline MRI technologist. She has worked in a medical imaging department since she was fifteen. First she worked as a receptionist and booking clerk. Then, Jennifer moved into the technology side of the department as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. After choosing to retrain in MRI, Jennifer started working in a general purpose MRI department in Saskatoon. With the purchase of a new magnet and upgrade to a Sentinelle breast system the Saskatoon Breast MRI program was initiated. Jennifer took a lead role in this and has work in the program since 2011, she has played a vital role in the expansion and development of the program to a quicker study, enabling access to MRI for more women in Northern Saskatchewan. Jennifer has also wrote a quick self study course for CAMRT on the basics of breast MRI. She is dedicated to expanding the understanding of breast MR and making it a standardized practice.
