Bio

After finishing medical school in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, Dr. Junqueira-Duarte came to Canada to do 6 months research. She and her husband fell in love with Toronto and decided to stay. After completing the MCC exams she applied and got in to U of T radiology residency. Had the pleasure of undergoing women’s imaging training at UHN. Subsequently, she started a job as a general radiologist with emphasis in women’s imaging. There she was also the women’s imaging lead at health sciences North and some surrounding peripheral hospitals. She was also the breast imaging lead for OBSP. Subsequently she started a job at Peterborough and Lindsay where she was also the women’s imaging lead. In July 2020 she started as staff radiologist at North York General hospital, where she currently practices.
