Dr. & Elder Roberta Price
A member of the Coast Salish Snuneymuxw and Cowichan Nations, Dr. and Elder Roberta Price has been leading and teaching for over 30 years, generously sharing her wisdom to advance health equity and cultural safety for Indigenous patients. She has been instrumental in creating shared spaces for Indigenous and Western approaches to healing, and her leadership has guided many research projects dedicated to decolonizing health care.
At The University of British Columbia, Dr. and Elder Roberta has served as Indigenous Program Co-Director in the Family Practice Residency Program and as Lead for the Anti-Racism Support Group, while also inspiring colleagues through her work with JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion). Her peers describe her as the “fearless leader and inspiration” behind this work, recognizing her “exceptional expertise, longstanding dedication, wise leadership, and tireless advocacy go above and beyond in every respect.” Dr. and Elder Roberta was also the first recipient of the DFP Cedar Awards initiative and an Honorary Degree Recipient at UBC in 2021.
