Credential Recognition: Emerging Trends in Canada
Summary:
This workshop will explore the evolving role of credential recognition in strengthening Canada’s health workforce and economy. As efforts to reduce interprovincial trade barriers gain momentum, the session will examine how streamlined credentialing can support both internationally educated and domestically trained health workers in achieving an optimal health workforce for the future. Highlighted presentations will focus on key areas including pan-Canadian opportunities, ethical recruitment, learning from other industries and countries, and balancing public safety with system needs. Participants will work together to unpack the complexities of the current system, identify opportunities and risks, and discuss the key ingredients of success for actionable pathways to enhance workforce mobility and healthcare delivery across Canada.
