Connecting Data to Planning: The Stories Within

Wednesday October 30th, 1:30pm - 3:00pm ET

Format: In-Person and Virtual

Led by: Health Workforce Canada

Summary of proposed workshop
Health workforce data and planning in Canada has been historically challenging for a variety of reasons. Decentralized data capture, standards and practices can make it difficult to visualize and strategically respond to the stories of health workers and the needs of patients and health systems. Health Workforce Canada is working to strengthen health workforce data and planning through several initiatives, including establishing an interactive data and information dashboard.

Join us to experience the evolving benefits of curated health workforce data in a series of team-based exercises designed to simulate the complexities of real-world planning for an evolving health system and workforce.

Participants will:

  • Experience Health Workforce Canada’s dashboard in action.
  • Shape future dashboard iterations to meet user needs and drive better connections between data and planning
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the health care continuum to explore the potential for high-impact change that a coordinated data and planning strategy could yield for Canadians and health care workers alike.

Presenters:

  • Amanda Tardif, Program Lead, Dashboards
  • Kate Harrell, Program Lead, Strategy
