Session Summary

Mindful Moments

Oxford
Monday, December 04 7:40 AM - 8:00 AM
Description:

Mindfulness means “Paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment, and with unconditional love” (- Jon Kabat-Zinn, modified by Dzung Vo). Mindfulness practice can benefit children and youth, parents and caregivers, and health professionals, and has the potential to transform a health care community and culture. We are offering brief drop-in mindfulness meditation sessions to conference attendees. The sessions are informal, and facilitated by members of the BC Children’s Hospital Centre for Mindfulness, whose vision is to co-create a “more mindful hospital.” The intentions of these sessions are:

  • Mindfulness practice together to promote health professional wellness and resilience
  • Mindful community building
  • Accessible to all participants, regardless of mindfulness experience, cultural or religious background, professional discipline etc.
