Description:

Advanced Practice (AP) for MRTs continues to expand. While most of the work to date has focused on radiation therapy, many lessons are being learned that can translate to the medical imaging disciplines. This case study presents how regulatory and legislative tools are being used to permit advanced practice MRTs in Ontario to practice at their full scope for maximum impact on the healthcare system. We will examine the areas where the use of these tools is necessary for advanced practice to help you understand the scope of advanced practice as defined by the CAMRT competency profile. Finally, we will explore the potential for how these tools can be used to support future expansion of AP across all MRT disciplines to develop new models of care.
