Description:

This session aims to enhance the attendee’s knowledge of CT-guided adaptive radiation therapy (ART) using the Ethos system and the impact that ART has on traditional workflows. Presenters from two Canadian Cancer Centres who are at differing time points in the Ethos journey will share their experiences with implementation, workflow refinement, managing operational impact, challenges and future directions. The importance of incorporating evidence-based practice will be woven throughout the session. Case studies will be shared to illustrate the potential benefits of ART, followed by an interactive dialogue with the audience about the important and (potentially) expanding role of radiation therapists in ART.

Objectives:

  • Recognize the impact that ART has on traditional radiation therapy workflows and the unique challenges that come with it
  • Demonstrate the important role of radiation therapists in ART
  • Identify opportunities for radiation therapy role enhancement or expansion
