This presentation will review the basics of radiobiology to refresh knowledge in a fun way. It will discuss important aspects of communicating risk, namely accuracy of information and effective communication that is readily understood by patients and caregivers.

Objectives:

  • Review pertinent radiobiology fundamentals
  • Discuss the quantification of risk and its implications in nuclear medicine
  • Describe effective communication of risk to patients


Nuclear Medicine Practice in Denmark: Sharing a Study Abroad Experience

This presentation will give a glance into the international policy, work culture and advancements as it pertains to patient-centered care, employee care in nuclear medicine. Based on my recent visit to the Rigshospitalet PET Department in Copenhagen, Denmark, I will be sharing the similarities between my experience and the CAMRT Best Practice Guidelines.

Objectives:

  • Compare my experiences with the Danish healthcare culture for employees and patients using the CAMRT Best Practice Guidelines to highlight similarities
  • Discuss the utility of PET, specialized equipment and theranostics that I observed in Denmark
