Description:

In an era where AI tools like ChatGPT pass CAMRT certification exams, assist in clinical decision-making, and even assist in drafting presentation proposals, the line between human expertise and machine-generated content is becoming increasingly blurred. This presentation will dive into the challenges of integrating AI into radiation technology, with a focus on the responsible implementation of the technology. By acknowledging that AI, such as ChatGPT, can assist in creating not just content like this proposal, but also predictive models, documentation, and personalized patient workflows, we emphasize the growing influence of AI in medical radiation technology. While AI can enhance efficiency and accuracy, we must ensure it remains a tool for humans—not a replacement—so that patient care remains ethical, personalized, and compassionate.

Objectives:

  • Explore how the application of AI-driven automation must be balanced with the critical role of human oversight.
  • Discuss the importance of transparency when using AI tools in clinical and professional contexts to maintain trust and ethical standards.
  • Facilitate an interactive conversation between ChatGPT and practitioners to raise awareness of AI tools' capabilities, promoting a deeper understanding of their potential in medical radiation technology.
