Description:

Social accountability (SA) is one of the 4 key focus areas of the 2022-2026 CAMRT strategic plan as it has been recognized as an emerging priority within our MRT professions. However, there is a gap in understanding what this specifically means for MRT professional practice. This presentation will explore the definition of SA and how it might be integrated into our specific disciplines.

Objectives:

  • Define Social Accountability (SA) in healthcare.
  • Examine the landscape of SA in other healthcare professions and organizations.
  • Discuss how SA is positioned and reinforced in the strategic priorities of our national association (CAMRT).
  • Explore what SA might mean in the context of the MRT professions.

This session aligns with the CAMRT Strategic Plan Pillar ‘Social accountability’.
