Radiation Oncology Systems and Data - How to get the Most out of Your EMR and HER - ASRT Speaker Exchange
Lorrie LeGrand, MHSc, RTT, Manager Clinical Applications & Data, Radiation Oncology, Miami Cancer Institute

Radiation Oncology electronic medical records and information systems drive treatment planning and delivery functions. To improve the continuity of care for oncology patients, Radiation Oncology facilities are transitioning clinical documentation for patient care to hospital electronic health records. This presentation will give a radiation therapist's clinical perspective about how to efficiently use multiple systems to drive and document Radiation Oncology activities. We will also touch on how valuable data can be used from these systems for daily clinic decision-making.

Objectives:

  • Discuss rationale for transitioning clinical documentation from Radiation Oncology EMR (i.e. ARIA/Mosaiq) to Facility EHR (i.e. Cerner, EPIC).
  • Demonstrate how multiple systems can be effectively and efficiently in a Radiation Oncology setting.
  • Show data reporting capabilities from multiple systems and how they are used operationally in a busy Radiation Oncology clinic space.

This session will be 20 minutes, with 5 minutes of Q&A
