Description:

Improving Treatment Outcomes in Depression: Neuronavigated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
Dr. Edward Yuzda, Canadian Health Solutions
Dr. Arron Metcalfe, Chief Research Officer, Canadian Health Solutions

Dr. Yuzda will provide a clinical overview of the use of transcranial magnetic stimulation in the treatment of major depressive disorder, and the importance of using neuronavigation to optimize treatment outcomes. Dr. Metcalfe will describe the technical aspects of using MRI to target specific regions in the brain for this type of therapy.

Objectives:

  • Participants will learn about the use of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) in the treatment of depression
  • Participants will understand the important role that brain MRI plays in the effectiveness of TMS therapy and the technical aspects of how the brain MRI is used.

This session will be 20 minutes with 5 minutes of Q&A

Cardiac MRI: A Radiologist's Perspective
Dr. Jessie Kang, MD, FRCPC, Nova Scotia Health, QE2 Health Sciences Centre, Dalhousie University

Objectives:

  • Review a systematic approach in interpreting a cardiac MRI
  • Recognize the importance of each sequence and how it aids interpretation
  • Use specific patterns to help diagnose various disease entities through a case based approach

This session will be 20 minutes with 5 minutes of Q&A
