Success and Struggles, Implementing a Lead Shielding Policy in a Pediatric Hospital [14:25-14:50]

The goal of this talk is to encourage frank discussion on the struggles facing MRTs when implementing lead shielding policy specifically, and departmental policy in general.

Objectives:

  • Review the legislation relevant to lead shielding.
  • Discuss the evolution of shielding practice.
  • Discuss the importance of consistent messaging during the practice of medical imaging.
  • Highlight the critical role MRTs must have in shaping their practice through education, engagement and participation in departmental and hospital initiatives.
