Description:

Medical Radiation Professionals on Social Media - Yay or Nay? (11:00 - 11:25)
Amanda Er, Social Media Editor - Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences

With the lack of in-person seminars/conferences in these times, it is challenging to find face-to-face opportunities to network with like-minded professionals (compared to in-person conferences in the past). Hence the suggestion of using social media as a means to facilitate opportunities for networking - whether as individuals or on behalf of organizations.  This presentation will:

  • Discuss responsible social media usage for networking within the medical radiation professionals community
  • Explore emerging applications of social media for research dissemination
  • Delve into dissemination of research through social media (recruiting participants, surveys, focus groups, interviews).

This session will be 25 minutes (20 minute presentation with 5 minutes of Q&A)

A Journey on the Other Side of the Road (11:25 - 11:50)
Michele Trask, Director Provincial Programs - BC Cancer

Objectives:

  • Discover the lessons learned by a healthcare professional as she shares her experience of the Cancer care process.
  • Share practical tips and examples to use to improve clinical practice.

This session will be 25 minutes (20 minute presentation with 5 minutes of Q&A)
