This year’s Opening Plenary Session will begin with welcome remarks from conference dignitaries, followed by a fireside chat between Executive Director Dr. Sarah Wells and special guest, The Honourable Lisa Raitt, P.C. 

Lisa Raitt brings deep and varied experience to the conversation on the conference theme, “Transportation for a Strong Canada”. She represented the Conservative Party in Parliament and served in federal Cabinet for more than a decade, including as Minister of Transport from 2013 to 2015. Her current role is as vice chair of Global Investment Banking with CIBC.

The chat will focus on transportation’s role in strengthening Canada’s economic competitiveness and global relations, and how infrastructure connects communities, supports trade, and improves quality of life for Canadians. It will be followed by an audience Q&A.
