Wednesday, October 07 9:00 - 11:30
Description:

Pre-registration required

Capacity: 30 Participants
Mode of Transportation: Bus

The revitalized St. Vital Bridge—a major thoroughfare over the Red River—has been completely transformed alongside its surrounding road network and active transportation corridors. The project replaced the bridge decks to create dedicated pedestrian and cycling space, stabilized the riverbanks, updated the road network configuration, and extended the structure’s lifespan by 50 years. As part of this tour, you will walk through the project site and hear directly from the design team on how they integrated modern active transportation facilities while maintaining essential bridge operations.

Focus Area: Infrastructure & Asset Management

Accessibility notes: Tour participants should expect to take a 15 minute bus ride to the bridge followed by around 90 minutes of a walking around the bridge and active transportation facilities before returning on the bus. The buses are all equipped with level boarding and the tour will take place on the public right-of-way utilizing sidewalks and curb ramps to navigate the area.
