Delivery of major transportation capital projects is inherently challenging. High construction cost escalation, scarcity of labour, and a shifting tolerance in the market for risk has left governments and public agencies searching for new strategies to deliver effective projects. Knowledge sharing and learning will be essential to helping to ensure that the ambitious pipeline of major transportation projects can be delivered in the face of the present challenges. This panel will assemble speakers from different jurisdictions to share their experiences delivering major transportation projects. The discussion will focus on procurement model selection (including project financing strategies), risk management, and project governance.
