Arlington Bridge Tour

After more then a century of connecting neighbourhoods the Arlington bridge was unexpectedly closed to all traffic in 2023 when structural issues could no longer be addressed with maintenance. Join this guided tour with the team that is removing the south spans of the bridge in the summer of 2026 and are working on decommissioning the remaining spans in 2027 as well as designing a replacement bridge that will re-establish the connection across the CPKC rail yards.

Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required:
Participants must bring: CSA approved steel toe boots

Provided: Vest and hard hats

Accessibility notes: Tour participants should expect to take a 15 minute bus ride to the bridge followed by around 90 minutes of a walking around the bridge site (including long stretches with a steep grade) before returning on the bus. The buses are all equipped with level boarding and the tour will be on a closed portion of the road. Some of the walking areas may be gravel or uneven. CSA approved steel toe boots are required.
