Climate change will have diverse implications for mobility, and technology can play a significant role in addressing these implications. Several examples illustrate how technology can be leveraged in this context:

• Real-time data collection systems, such as sensors and cameras to monitor and gather data, weather conditions, water levels, and traffic flow to anticipate and respond to flood events promptly.
• Deployment of traffic management systems enables rapid mitigation of flooding impacts, including remote gates and warning signs activation to close roads. This system can remotely detour vehicles, preventing access to flooded zones and reducing damage claims against municipalities or provinces while enhancing safety.
• Advanced traveler information systems, such as mobile apps and roadside technologies, enhance road authorities’ ability to manage extreme weather conditions. These systems provide updated guidance to citizens for safe and efficient evacuation during events like wildfires, hurricanes, and snowstorms.
