Description:

Organized by the Intelligent Transportation Systems Committee

Major events such as the FIFA World Cup, large-scale music festivals, and sold-out concerts like Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour create extraordinary demands on transportation networks. These occasions require innovative and adaptive solutions for planning, logistics, and real-time operations. This session explores how intelligent transportation systems (ITS) can transform event management by optimizing traffic flow, enhancing real-time communication, and ensuring seamless coordination across multiple transportation modes. From integrating transit systems and implementing dynamic congestion management to supporting rapid emergency response, ITS technologies play a crucial role in maintaining safe, efficient, and responsive mobility during high-demand periods. The panel will feature 3 to 4 experts with direct experience in transportation logistics for major international and local events, sharing best practices, lessons learned, and forward-looking strategies for using ITS to keep the crowds — and cities — moving smoothly.
