In a world of increasing polarization, transportation professionals can still hear opposing views to challenge our thinking and create understanding. The transportation debates will provide a forum for hearing opposing views in a fun and interactive setting. 

Two debates will be presented:
 

1. Bus Rapid Transit versus Light Rail Transit
   Resolution: Since it is often more economical and easier to implement, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) should be considered over Light Rail Transit (LRT).
    
2. Sustainable Mobility Goals versus Traditional Modelling
   Resolution: Transportation planning should move away from reliance on traditional four-step, vehicle demand forecasting models, focusing instead on prioritizing non-automobile modes to achieve sustainable mobility goals.
