Many factors – the pandemic, political climate, traffic congestion, international upheaval, extreme weather – have contributed to growing stress and burnout in transportation organizations. At the same time, disruption in the transportation sector has required individuals to be flexible, adapt, seek new skills, or take on new roles. This panel discussion will explore how coaching and mentoring – which both offer significant benefits depending on time horizons, career stages, and the need for performance or growth – can aid employers and individuals as they navigate today’s challenges. It will follow the format of CBC’s “The Debaters” program that worked so effectively in TAC’s popular 2024 conference session “Professors vs. Practitioners.”
