Most transportation authorities are aware of emerging sensor technologies and other new data sources, but many have limited resources to assess, procure and manage them. Some hesitate to replace tried-and-true tools (e.g. manual counts, pneumatic tubes), or to establish proactive data governance and management strategies. This session will feature a wide-ranging discussion around data governance and management practices, and the need for structured approaches to adopting and using emerging data sources and tools including AI.
