Description:

Organized by the Active Transportation Integrated Committee

The Active Transportation Integrated Committee seeks to host diverse and inclusive conference sessions. Women and those who identify as a visible minority, non-cisgendered person, Indigenous person, or member of any other underrepresented group, are invited to self-identify when submitting an abstract or panelist application.

Common challenges related to active transportation infrastructure include the removal of on-street parking, managing resident and business concerns, reallocating road space, managing the needs of all road users, building political and public support, and cost concerns. Practitioners dealing with these and other issues are not alone, and can learn from the experiences of others. Panelists in this session will share significant challenges they have faced, and how they overcame them (or not).
