Organized by the Vision Zero & Safe System Subcommittee of the Road Safety Committee

Robust evaluation of Vision Zero and Safe System initiatives can generate buy-in among leaders and drive transformative change. This session will include short panelist presentations followed by a discussion of how to embed evaluation in program frameworks and to leverage the results for improved road safety. Issues to be addressed could include:

• Lessons learned in jurisdictions across Canada
• Keys to success when scaling from pilot projects to a broad countermeasure-based approach
• Evaluating and publishing results to build public support for road safety interventions
• Creating data-driven, evidence-based business cases for road safety interventions
