Over the past decade, cities around the world have invested in bikesharing as part of a complete suite of mobility options. Private micromobility services, including shared e-scooters, have also entered the space and can compete with public services for market share. Municipal approaches differ in their ownership, objectives, operating models, integration with transit, and impacts on the mobility landscape.
