Description:
To achieve Vision Zero, road authorities across Canada will need to address safety in areas where low volumes of road users mean that collision patterns are not distinct and collision locations are not as predictable—such as on rural roads in smaller and more remote communities, and in the prairies, maritimes and north. These areas may require adaptation of conventional assessment methods and interventions to reduce collisions.

Panelists will discuss projects from their jurisdictions aimed at improving safety on low-volume roads, including in First Nations communities where equity in safety is an important consideration. The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions and participate in a discussion about removing barriers to Vision Zero on low-volume roads.
